Studio of Choice
Established in 2021 in Zimbabwe, the Studio of Choice strengthened SAYWHAT health and education digital advocacy during COVID-19 where virtual programming became a necessity and it continues to empower to students and young to advance their rights creatively. The studio provides a vibrant place for youth voices to take center stage through production of audio-visual, story telling art and advocacy.
What We’ve Created So Far
Since its inception, the Studio of Choice has become a hub for innovative youth-driven content that amplifies voices and promotes health and education advocacy. Here’s a glimpse of the impactful initiatives hosted by the studio:
National Universities Quiz and Debate Challenge
A flagship televised competition aired on national and regional television, reaching approximately half a million viewers weekly. This 32-episode annual challenge fosters critical thinking and dialogue among university students on pressing social issues.
Digital Condomize1 Campaign
Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, this campaign provides accurate, reliable information on condom use and continues to engage audiences annually during International Condom Day, promoting safe sexual practices in creative and interactive ways.
Orange Hub Podcast
A dynamic platform featuring legal talk shows and policy discussions that tackle today’s challenges in health and education. The podcast empowers young people with knowledge and advocacy tools to influence policy change.
The Bridge Show
One of our most powerful talk shows where the team takes conversations to the streets. This unique format engages young people directly in their communities, sparking dialogue on critical health and education issues in real time. It’s advocacy that meets youth where they are.
Creative Reproductive Health Arts Festival for Transformation
Through this festival, the studio supports young creatives in producing transformative art. Notable outputs include two short films – Choices – along with their theme soundtracks, all available on the SAYWHAT YouTube channel.
In addition to these productions, the Studio of Choice has collaborated with renowned artists to mentor young creatives and co-create powerful soundtracks that meet national standards. These musical pieces not only complement our short films and campaigns but also serve as anthems for advocacy, inspiring youth to champion health and education rights through art.
