Call for Article Writers: Students and Youth Perspectives on Key Health and Education Issues in Zimbabwe

SAYWHAT invites article submissions for its upcoming edition of “The Observer,” our quarterly newsletter. We are seeking insightful and thought-provoking position papers from students and youth on the following critical topics:

  1. Strengthening Family Planning Support in Zimbabwe amid Global Policy Shifts
  2.  Accelerating Youth Health Access through the Medical Services Amendment Bill
  3. Maintaining Reproductive Health Advancements in Zimbabwe: Evaluating the Influence of the Global Gag Rule
  4. Promoting Healthier Campus Environments in Zimbabwe through the Multisectoral Drug and Substance Abuse Plan
  5. Fostering Resilient Education Systems in Zimbabwe: Promoting Girls’ Education and Climate Change Awareness in Rural Areas
  6. Assessing the Effectiveness of Campus Policies on Sexual Harassment: Enhancing Reporting Mechanisms and Reducing Stigma

Submission Guidelines:

  • Position papers should be well-structured, concise, and adhere to academic standards.
  • Authors should provide an analysis, propose solutions, and make recommendations related to the chosen topic.
  • Include a brief bio (100-150 words), a high-quality photo, and contact information.
  • Papers should be between 1,500 to 2,000 words.
  • Cite all sources and references using Harvard style.

How to Submit:

  • Send your articles via email to infor@saywhat.org.zw
  • Include “The Observer 2025 Q1 – Position Paper Submission” in the email subject line.
  • Attach your position paper as a Word document.

Selection Process:

All submissions will be reviewed by our editorial team. Selected articles will be published in “The Observer” and featured on the SAYWHAT website and social media platforms. The Observer will also be presented to policymakers and key decision-makers to drive impactful discussions and actions in Zimbabwe’s health and education sectors. Your voice can make a difference!
