Students And Youth Working on reproductive Health Action Team (SAYWHAT) is a membership-based public health social movement, founded in 2003 to promote healthy lifestyles among young people (children, students, and out of school youths) in the SADC region through synergies with public and private stakeholders.  SAYWHAT;s inclusive programming centers on health information generation and sharing, capacity building, support provision and advocacy (PICSA) in support of the UN SDGs as well as Africa Agenda 2063.

Pursuant of its mandate, SAYWHAT is inviting young people with a passion in research to submit an innovative one pager essay on one of the following thematic areas:

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)
  • Public Health
  • Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual Harassment (SH)
  • Drug and substance abuse
  • Mental Health
  • Child protection
  • Education
  • Disability inclusion in education, public health , SRH and child safeguarding

The essay should highlight the problem, how it affects society and how it can be approached. Adjudication of the essays will be done by a scientific team of seasoned academics. Successful students will undergo a research mentorship program.
