Orathon

Launched in 2019, Orathon is a dynamic advocacy event that transforms movement into meaningful action.

Inspired by the global colour of hope, orange, and the endurance of a marathon, the “Orathon” positions young people and communities at the forefront of efforts to end gender-based violence, while championing physical activity as a powerful tool to prevent non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

Featuring two symbolic race categories:

  • an 8km route for men and women representing individual journeys in confronting GBV,
  • a 16km route culminating in a united final stretch to signify shared responsibility,

The Orathon is more than a race; it is a vibrant call for healthier, safer societies. By merging advocacy with wellness, this event leaves a lasting impact that extends far beyond the run.
