REAPs Project

With support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), SAYWHAT is implementing the Sexual and reproductive health Education and Advocacy Project (REAPS) which seeks to:

  • Harvest the potential, abilities and skills of young people in advocating for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services
  • Improve young people’s access to SRH services
  • Improve young people’s competencies in dealing with SRH challenges

REAPS promotes peer to peer dialogue and engagement to cultivate responsible behavior using youth-related interventions including the establishment of resource centers in institutions of higher learning and the national Condomize! Campaign in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Childcare in Zimbabwe.

Condom use is a critical part of a comprehensive, effective, and sustainable approach to preventing Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) including HIV, and unintended pregnancies. To be highly effective, condoms must be used correctly and consistently.

Since 2015, SAYWHAT implements the National Condomize! Campaign in institutions of Higher Learning, communities nationwide, and digital spaces to ensure young people have access to quality information on the use of condoms and to challenge the myths around condom use. This campaign complements Zimbabwe’s comprehensive condom programming including distribution and education as a key strategy to prevent STIs, HIV and unintended pregnancies.
