F02030
Increasing Public Financing for Family Planning in Zimbabwe project with support from FP2030 was implemented by SAYWHAT from August 2024 – July 2025.
Project Goal: Strengthening public financing for family planning, ensuring improved political commitment and accessibility, particularly for adolescents and young people in Zimbabwe.
Through coordination forums, advocacy meetings, and high-level consultations, SAYWHAT engaged policymakers to prioritize family planning in the national budget. Additionally, young advocates were trained as FP champions, leading policy briefs, position papers, and media campaigns to amplify awareness and influence investment in Family Planning services and commodities.
SAYWHAT partnered with Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council and other FP focal points in Zimbabwe, advocating for improved domestic financing for contraceptives in the national health budget, participated at the 2025 International Conference on Family Planning, and contributed to the development of the Contraceptives Cost Recovery Framework launched by the Ministry of Health and Childcare at the 2025 World Contraceptive Day.
