OPEN CALL FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROPOSALS
Students and Youth Working on Reproductive Health Action Team (SAYWHAT) is announcing the call for the 2024 Young Researchers’ Initiative Program: Understanding
Available Abortion Services by Young People in Zimbabwe.
All tertiary education students (aged between 18 to 35) within Zimbabwe are eligible to respond to this call.
The organization is carrying out the “I AM SAFE” campaign aimed at increased awareness and understanding of Zimbabwe’s Termination of Pregnancy Act (available abortion services by young people) in Zimbabwe, reduced abortion related stigma and discrimination, and improved access to safe abortion services by adolescent girls and young women in Zimbabwe. By fostering an inclusive and intellectually stimulating environment, the initiative aims to encourage innovative approaches to understanding and addressing the multifaceted issues surrounding abortion.
The Young Researchers Initiative Program (YRIP) is therefore inviting students interested in exploring diverse aspects of abortion to submit original research proposals. This opportunity provides a platform for young researchers to contribute valuable insights, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and promoting informed discussions in this critical field.
Interested candidates are invited to submit 500-word proposals highlighting the topic, research problem, objectives, and methodology on diverse aspects of abortion.
Blind adjudication of the proposals will be done by a team of seasoned academics. Successful applicants will have an opportunity to take part in an intensive research mentorship program.
