Call for Conference Chairpersons: National Students Conference

Students And Youth Working on reproductive Health Action Team SAYWHAT is a membership-based public health social movement organization founded in 2003. SAYWHAT’s mission is to promote students, youth, adolescents and children’s access to health and education rights, services & commodities across Africa with a broader vision of Generations of Healthy and Empowered Young People.

SAYWHAT is excited to announce the National Students Conference (NSC) which is running from the 5th to the 6th of December 2024 at ZESA training Centre in Harare. This conference serves as a platform for young people, policymakers, researchers, civil society organizations, and development partners from across the country to transform education and health policies. The theme for 14th edition of the conference is Students Thriving and Achieving Results – STARs transforming health and education outcomes”.

 

SAYWHAT is currently seeking dedicated and passionate young people to join us as Conference chairpersons. If you are interested in spearheading the movement for Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights in Zimbabwe this call is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the conference sessions.
  • Facilitate the engagement of participants to ensure productive, fair, and tolerant discussions.
  • Coordinate with speakers and panelists for smooth session transitions.
  • Represent National Students Conference and uphold the conference’s objectives.

Eligibility criteria

Age: 18 to 26

Nationality: The chairperson must be a citizen and resident of Zimbabwe

 

Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, youth empowerment, education and health.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, preferably in conference/event management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
